As OLIVARES previously informed, due the contingency measures adopted to prevent the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus, federal and local jurisdictional authorities, including Circuit Courts, Appeal Circuit Courts, District Courts and Civil and Commercial Courts, suspended their activities from March 18 to July 31, 2020, leaving only shift to post guard in cases of urgency and decreed that no procedural terms would run during said period, same that has not been modified.
However, the Federal Court of Administrative Affairs (FCA), including the Special Chamber for Intellectual Property Matters and the Special Chamber for Environmental and Regulatory Matters, that was scheduled to resume activities and procedural terms on July 27, 2020, has extended the suspension period up to July 31, 2020.
Nevertheless, these jurisdictional authorities have been solving cases where only the ruling was pending, executing and attending hearings and judicial proceedings through videoconferences. Likewise, these authorities enabled people to electronically file and prosecute all the actions, subject to their competence, through the use of electronic signature.
The decree announcing the extension of the period of suspension of activities and terms of the FCA will be published on the Federal Official Gazette shortly.
OLIVARES will keep monitoring and informing regarding any updates.
